Stearns Bank Adds New Chief Financial Officer

St. Cloud, MN (April 15, 2025)Today, Stearns Bank announced that Tam Nguyen has joined as Chief Financial Officer. The addition of Nguyen will bolster Stearns Bank’s commitment to attracting and cultivating a top-tier Leadership Team that exemplifies diversity, inclusion and unmatched sector expertise. She will report to Heather Plumski, President of Stearns Bank.

Her deep experience in strategy, finance, and capital management will be invaluable as we enter our next era of growth and continue to execute against our strategic three-year growth plans,” said Plumski. “Her proven leadership at the executive level will strengthen our financial operations and support key business objectives.”

In her role as Chief Financial Officer, Nguyen will oversee Stearns Bank’s financial strategy, regulatory reporting, and accounting operations. She will also be responsible for managing the bank’s key finance and capital markets areas—while working closely with the broader Leadership Team to define and execute strategic initiatives. Moreover, Nguyen will oversee financial reporting, accounting, taxation, corporate treasury, and balance sheet management.

Nguyen brings over 13 years of experience in banking and 25 years of experience in finance to the organization. Prior to Stearns Bank, she served as the SVP, Chief Financial Officer for Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. Moreover, she holds credentials as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree in business administration from California State University, San Marcos. She will be based in Yorba Linda, CA.
