Impactful Giving Keeps on Giving

Posted on: Nov 08, 2022

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is changing. And that’s a good thing.

Environmental considerations, ethics, diversity & labor practices, and volunteerism top the list of CSR examples – and companies everywhere increasingly see the potential benefits of making it a priority.

At Stearns Bank, CSR has long been on our radar and part of our Mission, Vision, and Values. We’re proud to lead the way, not playing catchup to this positively growing trend.

Let’s Talk About Community

Businesses and organizations are expected to serve customers at the very highest level, but they are also expected to serve their communities. More and more, customers are paying close attention to how the companies they support are supporting others.

One way Stearns Bank reaches optimal CSR is by making it easy for team members to share their time and talent through volunteerism. In fact, every Stearns Bank employee has 32 paid volunteer hours to use annually. So, the causes, foundations, events, school districts, shelters, and more that each person is passionate about, gets a piece of the volunteerism pie.

The team has shared thousands of hours to support and serve their communities. This fall, team members came together for a food collection that was distributed to St. Cloud-based Anna Marie’s Alliance, a shelter created to support women and children who are survivors of domestic violence.

And, as temperatures drop in Minnesota, Stearns Bank also partnered with local radio station 99.9 Lite FM for the Coats for Kids program, collecting winterwear for children in the St. Cloud Area School District.

This effort yielded 198 coats, 130 hats, 15 pair of snow pants, 25 scarves, 70 pair of gloves, and six pair of boots.

At a time when this school district alone has record numbers of homeless children, Stearns Bank was honored to take part in the collection and to wrap community members in warmth as the temperatures drop.
