The Norman C. Skalicky Foundation (NCSF) was established in 1999 by Norm Skalicky, CEO of Stearns Bank. NCSF donates to charities and has challenged communities with fund-raising matching campaigns for worldwide, national, and community disasters and needs.
Over $1 million has been raised by communities and matched by the NCSF since the Foundation was established. It’s one of the ways Stearns Bank and its employee-owners give back to the communities they serve. Following is a brief description of some matching challenges:
Annual Community Charity Challenge for Food Shelves. Since the first community charity challenge in 2001, the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation has raised more than $850,000 for Central Minnesota food shelves.
Help for Haiti. The NCSF raised more than $130,000, matching $50,000 to benefit those in need after the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota. The NCSF raised more than $500,000, matching that amount dollar for dollar, for the 2007 Eastside Boys & Girls Club’s building campaign. “The $500,000 gift is the largest gift received from an individual in our organization’s 33-year history, and we are just overwhelmed by Norm Skalicky’s generosity,” said Mark Sakry, executive director.
Habitat For Humanity. The NCSF gave $107,000 in a matching challenge that raised more than $300,000 for Habitat for Humanity.
